Simple, sweet, a little bit sassy, and a whole lot of love! Lauren and Micah’s Dallas wedding was one of the most heartfelt ceremonies we have ever photographed. A wedding centered around faith, family, friends, and fellowship—just the way it should be!

I love that the current trend for bridesmaids’ dresses is to mix and match hues and textures, while still staying in the same color scheme. You can’t go wrong with mint and coral bridesmaid dresses!

333-first-avenue-dallas-texas-wedding-mariel-and-joey-lifestyle-photography-4Although the “first-look”, an intimate moment where the bride and groom see each other before walking down the aisle, is generally one of our favorite moments of a wedding day, Micah and Lauren decided they would take a different approach. The two prayed together while holding hands around a wall, exchanged gifts and letters, and just savored the moment with each other before the festivities began. There were times when I really thought Lauren was going hop around the corner and throw her arms around Micah and refuse to let go. The anticipation of a bride and groom being so close to one another, but not seeing each other, is full of raw emotions that you just can’t contain. It was such a sweet and intimate moment—a perfect photo opportunity!

333-first-avenue-dallas-texas-wedding-mariel-and-joey-lifestyle-photography-6During wedding ceremonies we try to be as non-obtrusive as possible. Generally Joey will shoot from the back and I will get try to hide behind a pillar or groomsmen in the front. Not every venue allows this type of mobility, but when they do I love the angle I can get of the bride’s and groom’s faces as they share their vows, exchange rings, and say “I do!”

333-first-avenue-dallas-texas-wedding-mariel-and-joey-lifestyle-photography-7When a couple gives me an hour after the ceremony for portraits you better believe I am going to use every minute. Especially with a couple as handsome as these two. Oh, and the motorcycle! If you like these be sure to check back next week for part two. Their exit was steamy!
